Job Responsibilities 

The Graphic Designer will report to Office Manager Abby Palfreyman (akp7830@nyu.edu).

Responsibilities include:

  • Design Creation: Develop visually engaging and on-brand digital and print materials, including promotional graphics, social media visuals, brochures, posters, and other marketing material.
  • Brand Consistency: Maintain and enhance the institution’s brand guidelines across all design projects, ensuring consistent visual identity and messaging.
  • Project Management: Prioritize and manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and adjusting priorities as needed.
  • Content Adaptation: Modify and repurpose existing assets to fit new formats and platforms (web, print, social media, etc.)
  • Newsletter: Support with graphics for weekly and special newsletters and other office communications

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Expertise in Adobe CC Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, LightRoom, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, background in communications is preferred
  • Professional experience in graphic design
  • Color correction and color matching acuity
  • Comfort with producing both digital and print materials, and should understand the different parameters for each output
  • Knowledge and proficiency in designing visuals for Facebook, Instagram (Stories, Feed, Reels), TikTok, and LinkedIn
  • Familiarity with Google platforms (e.g. Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • You must be able to lift medium-weight boxes (approx. 20ibs)
  • Experience in an administrative and/or office role is preferred

This is a part-time, in-person position open to undergraduate students only. Evaluations will be conducted at the end of every semester.

Hours and Compensation

This position is for 10-15 hours a week (in person) beginning the Fall 2025 Semester ($17/ hour). This position is open to undergraduate students only. Evaluations will be conducted at the end of every semester.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly base salary range for student employment positions are $16.50-$18 per hour for undergraduate students and $29.00-$30 per hour for graduate students. The hourly rate for graduate employees is based on the collective bargaining agreement with Local 2110.
