[INTERN] Lucule – product & branding innovation consultancy start-up

About Lucule
We are a product & branding innovation consultancy start-up. Our primary focus is delivering innovation consulting to packaged goods companies, although our experience crosses a range of industries. We’ve had a lot of success with companies like Mars — that desperately need new thinking and innovative ideas to continue to grow. We believe innovation is not just about big ideas and a deep understanding of the consumer, but also an understanding of the complex business landscape. Our philosophy & approach is most closely matched to our competitor Fahrenheit 212.
As of right now, we are 2 full-time employees/partners (Debra Kaye & myself). Debra is the CEO and founder of Lucule. I oversee marketing and business development.
Debra is a leading innovation expert, with a very illustrious career of building businesses and products including Activia, Nutro, one of the top selling shampoos in the world, her own cosmetic line ,and the top marketing agency in Spain. She is currently writing a mainstream book on innovation which will likely come out in 2012 (more info can be found on our website).
I am a marketing and business development expert who has worked in various global media agencies over the last 11 years. I’ve pitched and won lots of big business, including Verizon, Intel, Microsoft, and Merck to name a few.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an intern to work closely with us to develop and execute our social media strategy that will help create buzz and awareness for Lucule. This includes writing articles for our blog and socializing the content across the web. Therefore requirements include:
  • Understanding of digital and social media
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strategic & creative mindset
  • Knowledge of product innovation and marketing is a plus (e.g., regular readers of Fast Company, Wired, Mashable, etc.)
  • Willingness to learn and dive right in
This is definitely an opportunity with flexibility in terms of hours and location (telecommuting is no problem). We’re also open to 2 or more interns who would like to work together on the project.
Again, we are in the early stages, so the potential to have a significant role with our company after NYU is a very real potential here.
The internship position is not an hourly paid position, but we will provide some compensation for meeting various goals (e.g, number & quality of followers on Twitter attained). Beyond this I’ll ensure mentorship and a strong learning environment is provided.
Best regards,
Jessica
