The Interaction and Experience Research (IXR) Group, at Intel Labs, is currently accepting applications for a User Experience Design Intern. The successful candidate will be joining a world-class team of industry researchers. Our group consists of a wide variety of disciplines including: social scientists, design researchers, interaction designers, human factors engineers, strategic planners, and technology innovators, hardware and software engineers. The role consists of working with a collaborative team to design and develop rapid prototyping/hacking concepts for the team to evaluate and generate R&D material. In particular, we are looking for a student to investigate experience concepts targeted at the next 3-5 years in a particular market segment.
Qualifications
You must be a student currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Masters degree in User Experience or Interaction Design.

Additional ideal qualifications include:
– Experience in interaction design, information architecture, and experience design for digital experiences
– Interest in convergent digital-physical interfaces
– Familiarity with wireframing tools, such as Omnigraffle, InDesign, Axure or Visio
– Visual design skills and experience, including familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator
– Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to work in a team environment
– Experience utilizing prototyping in order to iterate within a design process

Qualifications Minimum
– Pursuing or received B.S. or M.A/M.S. in Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Digital Media, Applied Arts or related disciplines
– Strong desire to learn
– Demonstrated knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign/OmniGraffle/Axure/Visio
– Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills

Preferred
– Wild creativity paired with strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills
– High tolerance for a dynamic work environment with rapidly changing priorities
– Prototyping skills a plus, including familiarity with tools such as Arduino, Processing, OpenFrameworks
