What We Are Looking For: 
Leadership and incredible talent to help transform international new media broadcast (mobile, social, web, devices) into beautiful useful and efficient experiences for news, journalism and nformation. We are in an environment of high experimentation as the in house lab to try and break new things for what will work in newsrooms and for news consumers. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Serves as an expert with the technical and conceptual environment of digital products development; fluent in existing and emerging web technologies as they pertain to user “front-end” interface design and information delivery via the world wide web including relevant software products (i.e., HTML, DHTM, Java, JavaScript, ASP, ActiveX, PHP, etc.), bandwide requirements, and multimedia components; AND experience in graphics design programs and technologies, especially the adobe 5.5 suite of graphic applications.
  • Provides visual and conceptual guidance, to both the ODDI Creative Team and to BBG clients.  Integrates client/project requirements, and includes broad direction as to look, feel, and user-experience of the digital product.
  • Leverages client’s deep technical knowledge to make certain both functional and technical requirements inform the visual strategy for any given project.
  • Develops designs across a variety of content management systems, including open source CMS, such as WoodPress, Joomla, Drupal, and social media sites.
  • Handwrites, adapts, and troubleshoots front-end codes:  CSS, HTMT, XML, and JavaScript.  Works back-end codes, such as database applications including PHP.

This job is based in Washington DC and is a Full Time Position.

Salary Range: $89,003.00 to $115,742.00 / Per Year
