[JOB] Software Developer For The Arts, Fractured Atlas

ABOUT YOU

You’re new-ish to software engineering. Maybe you’ve got a little experience working on a production app. Maybe you’ve been taking programming classes on the side and hacking on your side projects in your spare time. Either way, you’re ready to take what you’ve learned and go to the next level and become a seasoned software engineer.
ABOUT US

Fractured Atlas helps artists succeed as entrepreneurs. We build software that helps artists raise money, find space to perform, insure their work, ticket their shows, and connect with their patrons to build lasting relationships.
Fractured Atlas is a non-profit organization. We’re mission-driven. Our goal is to change the world by fostering creativity, not to maximize profits for some VC investor.

Our developers work on an array of technology products. Artful.ly manages ticketing, donations, and patrons for some of the most innovative performing arts organizations in New York and across the country. Spaces creates online marketplaces for renting rehearsal, performance, and studio spaces. Archipelago allows arts funders, researchers, and policymakers to visualize, map, and analyze data on local cultural ecosystems.
We build these tools using a blend of Ruby on Rails, jQuery, Haml, Sass, Solr, MySQL, MongoDB, and Twitter Bootstrap. We’re always diving in to new technology to see how it can help make our applications better. If you have some tech that you’re really excited about then we’ll find a way to use it and improve the product.

Our products are young but very successful so far. We want to add some talented and passionate developers (like you!) to help us grow these products from early success to long-term prosperity.
The vast majority of our development is in Ruby on Rails. We’re open to new things, though, so if you have an itch to learn something and think it can help out the tech stack, we’re all for it.
