Ericsson Mediaroom is looking for exceptional candidates in the following roles.
Role: Associate Creative Director
Position: Full time employee
Ericsson Mediaroom is looking for a stellar Associate Creative Director to lead one or
more design teams throughout all phases of design and development of our digital
products and services. The ACD will be responsible and accountable for the creative
direction of our product design efforts, ranging from defining their strategic alignment and
product positioning, to directing the execution of specific designs, to ensuring the top level
of quality in the final deliverables. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience
in leading teams throughout the process of generating unique value and innovation in the
design of products and services. Their skill set will seamlessly blend an exceptional visual
design sensibility with a deep understanding of interaction and motion design, across a
variety of platforms including mobile and the Web. Prior experience with the design of
large application development platforms will be considered a plus.
The candidate will be immersed in a highly collaborative environment and part of their
responsibility will be to regularly interact with software engineers and product managers.
As a team manager and representative of design inside the Ericsson Mediaroom
organization, the candidate will need to have exceptional communication skills, and be
capable of clearly communicating their thoughts with a variety of tools ranging from white
board sketches to complex presentations for a senior executive audience. In specific
circumstances, the candidate may be required to also act as an individual contributor
getting their hands dirty with actual creation of interaction documents or visual designs.
Ideally, the candidate will also be passionate about mentoring more junior members of the
design team.
The ideal candidate will own the following skills:
Capable of leading a design team throughout all phases of the design of a digital
product or service, from early architecture to detailed execution;
Adept at translating design research, strategic market positioning, technical
requirements into a specific design direction, including visuals and interaction;
Complete familiarity with leading mixed teams of visual designers, interaction designers,
and design developers;
Fluent in popular platforms’ design languages, including UI frameworks, controls and
interaction models;
Deep understanding of platform and device requirements such as form factors, screen
resolutions, pixel density and aspect ratios;
In­depth familiarity with HTML, CSS and JavaScript;
Experience in building design language systems, customizable designs and white label
products;
Contributing to the creation of future and current product presentations, interactive
demonstrations, and video scenarios;
10+ years’ experience with a major web, product development or consulting firm in the
digital product and/or service design and development space.
While not required, candidates with the following skills will be preferred:
Familiarity with agile software development methodologies;
TV/video design experiences a plus.
Responsibilities:
Lead a design team throughout all phases of execution of design concepts, directions
and layouts across TV, tablets and smartphones;
Ensure the quality and consistency of user experience across multiple products,
platforms and services;
Lead the design and development of a design language system including interaction,
visuals and motion;
Lead the creation and maintenance of design documentation, including style guides, UI
toolkits and other design documents;
Ensure the delivery of a consistent consumer product experience by working in close

Role: Design Research Manager
Postion: Full time employee
Ericsson Mediaroom is looking for a world­class Design Research Manager who can drive
qualitative and quantitative research initiatives, and lead a small to medium design
research team. The ideal candidate will leverage expert knowledge in social science and
statistics, cognitive science, human factors, anthropology and ethnography in conducting
research efforts that will target consumers as well as businesses, mostly in the TV and
video domain and adjacent spaces. An academic background in any of the above
mentioned disciplines will be considered a plus. The ideal candidate will have deep
experience in planning and executing on rigorous research programs, ranging from more
quantitive efforts to more qualitative efforts. In addition, the candidate will have equally
deep knowledge of human factors, including detailed knowledge of the variety of available
usability testing techniques to be applied in controlled as well as open environments. With
the objective of validating the design before implementation, the Research Manager will in
fact be responsible for leading the team in executing on extremely frequent usability
testing sessions, following closely our agile software development timeline.
At Ericsson Mediaroom, the research practice is also involved in making decisions
regarding future plans. The Design Research Manager will represent consumer and TV
operators priorities as evidenced by research, in all settings where the evolution of
Ericsson Mediaroom offering will be discussed and decided. In these settings, highly
polished visual and verbal presentation skills are a must, as is the ability of participating
and contributing in executive level conversations.
The design research team at Mediaroom operates in an agile development environment,
where frequent face­to­face interactions as well as wide­bandwidth communications are
fundamental assets. For this reason, the role will require complete comfort with an
extremely collaborative process that involves many other functions, such as product
managers, software engineers and QA testers. Great communication skills are an
absolute requirement for the position and familiarity with large­scale software
development will be considered a plus.
Finally, the Design Research Manager will work in close collaboration with the Ericsson
Mediaroom Marketing team and regularly interface with Ericsson Mediaroom clients by
participating in business development meetings.
The ideal candidate will own the following skills:
10­12 years experience in executing design and/or marketing research in a leading
technology or consumer product company;
5­7 years experience in managing a design and/or marketing research team in a leading
technology or consumer product company;
an MA/MS in Social Science, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Human­
Computer Interaction or related field;
Deep knowledge of all relevant methodologies and techniques for conducting
foundational design research as well as usability studies;
Strong statistical analysis skills including familiarity with parametric and non­parametric
statistics and with popular statistical and data visualization software packages;
Complete familiarity with consumer perceptions analytical methodologies including
multidimensional scaling, factor analysis, regression analysis, and others;
Complete familiarity with the planning, executing and managing of International
quantitative and qualitative design research initiatives of varying scale on consumers and
businesses;
Complete familiarity with the planning, executing and managing of usability testing on
existing products and future concepts in controlled environments and open conditions;
Deep experience in collaborating with product teams and helping them consider and
translate the findings of research in product design directions and decisions;
Extremely strong oral and written communication skills and deep experience in
presenting to internal and external executive­level audiences.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of experienced design researchers throughout all phases of qualitative and
quantitative generative research and usability studies planning and execution;
Manage the schedule of usability study execution in sync with the company’s agile
software development schedule;
Work in close collaboration with the design team, as well as with the rest of the
organization, to define research objectives and priorities;
Work in close collaboration with design, engineering and product management to define
real­time product instrumentation, related analytical tools, and feedback loop;
Socialize the findings of research throughout the Ericsson Mediaroom organization;
Establish a process and methodology for design research to influence tactical product
decision making;
Collaborate with Product Planning and Ericsson Mediaroom Executives offering
research based insights relevant for strategic decision making;

Role: Senior Interaction Designer
Postion: Full time employee
Ericsson Mediaroom is looking for a world­class senior interaction designer with a deep
understanding of visual and motion design, to contribute to the design and development
of our products and services. The senior interaction designer will be primarily responsible
for the definition of our products and services user experience. The senior interaction
designer role will require complete comfort with an extremely collaborative process that
involves, in addition to design and research, product managers, software engineers and
QA testers. Great communication skills are an absolute requirement for the position and
familiarity with large­scale software development will be considered a plus.
In addition to contributing hands­on to the execution of the design, the senior interaction
designer will be expected to lead a project team in the daily execution of the design and
development of our products and services. They will work in close collaboration with
senior members of the Ericsson Mediaroom design team, as well as with research,
product management and engineering, to define the creative direction for a specific
product. The senior interaction designer will share with a design producer the
responsibility for executing on the agreed direction in the day­to­day operations of a
design team.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the utmost level of quality in the consistent delivery
of the following skills:
Understanding of product positioning and technical requirements, and ability of
translating this understanding in the definition of design requirements;
Understanding of qualitative and quantitative design and marketing research findings
and techniques;
In­depth understanding of visual design and motion design;
Deep knowledge of the design impact of different form factors, screen resolutions, pixel
densities and aspect ratios for today’s popular tablets and smart phones;
Confidently presenting designs to product managers and software engineers,
articulating the details of navigation and flows, screen layouts and transformations, UI
components and their states;
Overseeing the creation of clear and detailed design documents intended for an
audience of developers with no design background;
Leading a mixed design team of visual designers, interaction designers, and design
developers, in the day­to­day execution of the design of digital products or services, from
early architecture to final touches;
Contributing to the creation of future and current product presentations, interactive
demonstrations, and video scenarios;
Proficiency with Adobe CS, Visio or Omnigraphlle or equivalent, MS PowerPoint or
Apple Keynote;

Strong time management skills and ability to be self­directed when needed;
Minimum 5­7 years’ experience with a major web, product development or consulting

Role: Senior Design Developer
Postion: Full time employee
Ericsson Mediaroom is looking for a superlative Senior Design Developer to focus on the
implementation of client interfaces and experiences on a variety of devices, ranging from
TV to tablets and smart phones. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for
building innovative UX concepts using contemporary web presentation technologies and
techniques, and for overcoming the limits of existing software platforms with original
solutions. The center focus and primary responsibility of the Senior Design Developer will
be to ensure the maximum possible degree of consistency between Ericsson Mediaroom
UX, as specified in design artifacts, and its final implementation in the actual product and
service software builds.
The ideal candidate will own the following skills:
Advanced knowledge of HTML 5 and previous standards, CSS, and JavaScript as
development and production environments;
8­10 years experience building cross­platform web applications, including mobile web
sites for smart phone and tablets;
Strong time management skills and ability to be self­directed when needed;
Highly collaborative and open attitude;
Ability to manage small developer teams (2­3 people) throughout the software
development process;
Basic understanding of interaction, visual and motion design;
Basic understanding of contemporary design trends and emerging consumer behaviors;
Prior experience with working with UI and presentation frameworks based on HTML,
CSS, and Javascript will be considered a big plus;
Excellent communication skills with the ability play a bridge role between Design and
Engineering
Responsibilities:
Use web presentation technologies to build the UI/UX of Ericsson Mediaroom products
and services on a variety of devices, including but not limited to: Tv Set­Top­Boxes, iOS
and Android Tablets, iOS and Android Smart Phones;
Apply the proprietary Ericsson Mediaroom UI framework to build the UI/UX of Ericsson
Mediaroom products and services;
Ensure the highest degree of consistency between the UI/UX in the final software build
of Ericsson Mediaroom products and services, and the original UI/UX design as reflected
in design artifacts and documentation;
Help evolve the Ericsson Mediaroom UI framework by building new tools and
extensions;
Work in close collaboration with designers in order to ensure the pixel­ and behavior­
perfect implementation of Ericsson Mediaroom product and service design;
Work in close collaboration with engineering throughout all phases of front­end
development and UI framework extension;
Work in close collaboration with Ericsson Mediaroom clients, helping them understand
how to use the Mediaroom platform to build service expressions that are consistent with
their brands and values;
Be a representative for the Design team while participating in daily scrum and other
agile development meetings
