Lincoln Center’s digital strategy is stretching beyond selling tickets. We are building the premier
digital place to experience the arts through video, editorial content, live-streaming, original
forms of digital storytelling, and even VR/AR. We are looking for a talented, passionate
developer to help break boundaries and build new interactive ways for patrons to experience
Lincoln Center and the performing arts around the world in digital reality.
The candidate must have the ability to both brainstorm on how to build something, but also
create it. Our small team is also responsible for current state support of various micro sites, the
main website and potential smartphone applications, and all team members will have a variety of
tasks. Although we are a non-profit organization, we are a fast-moving group with multiple
projects on the go at all times. Therefore, we are looking for a highly skilled computer
programmer who is comfortable with both front and back-end programming. Full stack
developers are responsible for developing and designing front end web architecture, ensuring the
responsiveness of applications, and working alongside graphic designers for web design features,
among other duties.
Full stack developers will be required to see out a project from conception to final product,
requiring good organizational skills and attention to detail. This position reports to the Director,
Digital Design.
Full Stack Developer Responsibilities:
Developing front end website architecture.
Designing user interactions on web pages.
Developing back-end website applications.
Creating servers and databases for functionality.
Ensuring cross-platform optimization for mobile phones.
Ensuring responsiveness of applications.
Working alongside designers for web design features.
Seeing through a project from conception to finished product.
Designing and developing APIs.
Meeting both technical and consumer needs.
Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.
Full Stack Developer Requirements:
5+ years of professional work experience
Key technologies: Statamic, SASS, CSS, HTML, HTML email creation, Exact Target, Google
Analytics, XML, Javascript, JQuery
Scripting language skills: PHP with a focus on OOP and MVC design pattern, Node.js
Experience with responsive templates
IDE: Grunt/command line/ssh, Homebrew
Experience building CMS sites (Statamic, Expression Engine, WordPress, Drupal)
Established JavaScript abilities across both native and popular JS frameworks
Versed in code repository software (Git, Subversion, etc.)
Adobe Illustrator / SVG / Photoshop
Solid understanding of browser quirks and workarounds
Deep familiarity with a version control system like SVN or Git
Strong working knowledge of web standards, coding best practices, and accessibility standards
· Strong organizational and project management skills.
· Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React, and Amber.
· Proficiency with server-side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP, and .Net.
· Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
