AI Experiential Learning Lab: Industry Immersion for University Teams

This lab is well suited for students in computer science, data science, business, design, or related fields who are interested in applying AI in practical, enterprise-relevant contexts.

Focus Area: Enterprise-Ready Agentic AI

Participants will design and build agentic AI solutions that address real-world industry challenges, gaining hands-on experience with technologies shaping the future of work.

What Students Will Do

  • Complete self-paced learning modules and attend live sessions with IBM and industry experts
  • Apply design thinking and agile methods to real-world challenges
  • Build and present an AI prototype using IBM watsonx and open-source tech
  • Collaborate in diverse, multidisciplinary teams

Who Can Join?

Open to teams of second- to fourth-year students actively enrolled at universities, colleges, community colleges, or vocational/technical schools in the United States or United Kingdom.

Teams Will:

  • Explore IBM’s agentic AI tools
  • Design and build AI-driven solutions
  • Work on real industry challenges and showcase projects to IBM experts

Before Applying

  • Form a team of 1–5 students
  • Be prepared to design and build an AI prototype as part of the program
  • Ensure at least one team member has technical or coding skills
  • Each team should also choose:
    • A team name
    • A team leader
