Web/Flash/Ruby Developer Job Description
Sourcetone is in search of a developer to assist in developing and
maintaining Flash applications and both Flash- and Ruby on Rails/HTML-
based websites. The developer will be responsible for working with the
existing design and development teams to create site content and code
for creating timely, optimized and standards-compliant commercial
websites and Flash applications for public launch. The successful
candidate will have demonstrated experience with developing
interactive Flash, Ruby on Rails and HTML/CSS/Javascript sites to
interface with a content management back-end system. The developer
will be responsible for developing, updating and maintaining MySQL
databases as needed to power our forward facing web presence.
Requirements/Experience
3+ years of Flash and web development experience
Required Languages and Frameworks:
Ruby and Ruby on Rails
Flash/Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0
Javascript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, PHP
SQL and MySQL
Preferred Languages and Frameworks
HTML5 and CSS3
JQuery
AJAX
Nginx, Mongrel, GIT (in general, services supporting RoR)
Demonstrated Experience with the following required:
Web standards/Browser capabilities, including cross-browser compliance
Adobe CS3-CS4 Design Suite
Facebook and other social media integration
Web 2.0 tools, techniques and best practices
Implementing client-side libraries/frameworks
Consumer-facing web development
Experience with the following preferred:
XCode IDE, iPhone SDK, Apple Approval & Distribution Process
Development for the iPhone , iPad, mobile devices
Addressing clustering/caching, threading and performance issues
