Creative Technologist/ Lead Developer for Fashion Technology Startup
About us:
STYLYT is a social media engagement platform that connects consumer and fashion brands through crowdsourced designs. Our main product, the STYLYT Design Studio, is a web-based, multi-platform, real time product configurator. Users customize a product in a brand’s collection and enter it to the design contest. The STYLYT community scores all submissions and the winning design is eventually manufactured and sold exclusively on stylyt.com as a limited edition item.

The position:
We are seeking a creative technologist/lead developer to contribute to STYLYT’s creative vision, define and execute the technology strategy, and help STYLYT build a scalable technology platform. Primary responsibilities and skills include:
- Manage all technical aspects of stylyt.com
- Evaluate scalability of current platform and recommend options to build a more scalable solution (including server-side applications, java, SVG based renderings, others).
- Manage existing product including maintenance, updates and improvements.
- Lead product transition from private to public beta.
- Proficiency in PHP/CSS, MySQL, Javascript and Processing required.
- Web design, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator experience a plus.
Compensation depends upon experience and can include a combination of equity and salary. An ideal candidate will join us full time, but we will consider stellar part time applicants and are happy to help formalize a school project for credit.
