The role of a technologist is that of a trusted advisor. The technologist consults with internal client teams, providing advice and counsel about the use and application of technology, bringing velocity to business goals. At MOMENTUM the Technologist is an architect of opportunity and inventor.
This person is responsible for bringing a quantitative and qualitative consumer perspective to MOMENTUM products and consulting services in partnership with internal, external and Client teams helping to turn data into ideas and behavioral trends into action. This role will frame problems, identify opportunities, participate in ideation and work sessions, inspire invention, and present strategic recommendations with some of the world’s most talented people for the world’s most respected brands.
The technologist works in close partnership with all Momentum disciplines.
Ownership breaks down as follows:
• Business Leader: client objectives and relationship
• Strategist: framing the opportunity through crafting the brief
• Project Manager: oversight of all elements of the entire campaign
• Creative Director: keeper of the story and overarching concept
• Technologist: research and invention
• Integrated Producer: project specific lead and team communication
The Technologist requires the skills and desire to transform an idea into a business property designed to succeed within a marketing dynamic.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Active role in New Business Development and Organic Growth of existing business
• Develop near—term, medium—term, and longer term point of view on the technological capabilities that MOMENTUM needs to maintain its leadership posture in a Client engagement
• Work closely with the internal client teams to help develop industry—based POVs and insights
• Work closely with internal client teams to ensure MOMENTUM technology research capabilities meet our evolving needs
• Participate in at least one internal (momo.edu) speaking engagements per year
• Produce at least 2 white papers on technology trends and emerging media per year
• Own multiple Client engagements, on which you will:
- – Develop single—minded POV documents that provide stimulus and inspire innovation
- – Own various qualitative and insight—based deliverables to drive Client understanding
- – Act as technical liaison between Integrated MOMENTUM, Vendors and Clients
- – Build lasting Client relationships and elevate Client relationships
• Work with integrated producer to assist with management of vendors, contractors and support continuous performance management by monitoring and tracking performance
• Responsible for conceiving and building technology—enabled new ventures, business methods, marketing properties, products and services
REQUIREMENTS
• A profound love and passion for Technology
• Curious and resourceful; comfortable designing and implementing qualitative research, conducting consumer and stakeholder interviews, and uncovering unique sources of insight
• Demonstrated ability to connect strategy to execution
• Knowledge of the digital marketing and advertising landscape, the unique technical aspects of the medium, and their impact on account planning.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute research for clients in a variety of industries
• Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative agency environment with multi—disciplinary teams
• Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, and presentation skills
• Strong project management skills
• The ability to laugh at yourself
