CALL: Paid Social Impact Fellowship for Alumni

I am writing to let you know that our 2018 Fellowship application is open, and we’d love your help spreading the word! I think this could be a fantastic opportunity for ITP alumni!

As always, we are looking for amazing engineers, designers, product managers, and experts who are excited to dig into the messy process of exploring community pain points and building new tech to address them.
This year, we are focusing on jobs that work for working parents. 45% of working New Yorkers say they’d like to pick up more hours. Many more would like to pick up better hours – jobs that pay more, are more flexible to family care demands, or are more aligned with their skills.
Here’s how you can help in less than five minutes
1. Take three minutes to think of at least one amazing person you think would be a fantastic Fellow and encourage them to apply (template below).
2. Take one minute to retweet our announcement and share the news on LinkedIn and Facebook.
Find out more about our fellowship here: https://labs.robinhood.org/fellowship/
Attached is our newsletter blurb, which is a bit long, so feel free to edit down to whatever makes sense for your newsletter.
With gratitude,
Bill

Hi [X],

I hope all is well! I wanted to make sure you knew about the Fellowship program at Blue Ridge Labs, an incubator in Brooklyn that brings together technologists and communities to explore and build new solutions for low-income New Yorkers. Selected Fellows receive

  • Funding: A full-time stipend, health insurance reimbursement, and research budget
  • Cofounders: A cohort of talented peers with complementary skills
  • Access: Connections to hundreds of potential users and customers through our Design Insight Group (link), plus connections to topic experts and partner organizations
  • Community: Office space and a community of high-impact startups, mentors, and funders

Previous Fellowship teams have built an app that helps more than 1 million families manage their food stamps and a platform for helping rents hold their landlords accountable.

Given your background, I thought you or others you know might be interested. You can find out more about the opportunity here. Applications close February 26th.

Warmly,

[Y]
