[INTERN and JOB] Captain Lucas

Captain Lucas Inc is building a new CMS for Cool Hunting (http://coolhunting.com) and needs some help working through a few key aspects of the publishing workflow. Work will entail user research to understand our team’s needs and iterative wireframe development. This paid internship is an opportunity to work with Josh Rubin, ITP Alum, UX professional and Cool Hunting’s Editor in Chief.

Captain Lucas Inc is seeking a smart, passionate full-time back-end/front-end web developer who enjoys learning new techniques, maintaining a cloud-based app, writing clean cross-browser compatible code, and loves the web. This design-minded developer will focus primarily on the redesign and development of Cool Hunting (http://coolhunting.com) as a Ruby on Rails / html5 site, developing new functionality, and troubleshooting site issues.

Requirements:

– 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
– Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Heroku and Amazon S3
– Knowledge of NoSQL and SQL databases (MongoDB, MySQL and Postgres)
– Experience with jQuery, Bootstrap, CSS3, HTML5
– Experience with Mobile and API’s
