[INTERN] Research Assistant, Furman Center

The Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy seeks NYU graduate students to work as research assistants (RAs).  RAs must commit approximately 10-20 hours per week during the school year, and have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week during summer.

To apply, NYU graduate students should send a resume, cover letter and transcript (unofficial is fine) to furmanjobs@nyu.edu. Please attach all documents rather than sending in the body of an email. Make sure to specify Data Visualization and Web Development Research Assistant in the subject line of your email, and note summer/fall availability.

Research assistants will work with a team of researchers at the Furman Center with a focus on the following area:

Data Visualization and Web Development
Data visualization and web development research assistants will create web-based data visualizations for the Furman Center’s blog and other showcase web projects. The work requires proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript programming and ability to work with large datasets.  Familiarity with d3, processing, fusion tables, cartodb or other visualization technologies and an interest in urban policy is highly desirable.  Please include a link to sample of your work with your application.

The Furman Center, a joint center of New York University School of Law and the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at NYU, is the leading academic research center in New York City devoted to the public policy aspects of land use, real estate development and housing.  The Furman Center brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to its research projects and seeks to employ researchers from a variety of related fields, including law, real estate, finance, urban planning, public policy, political science, statistics, economics and the social sciences.

International students are welcome to apply. The Law School does not apply federal work study funds during summer, but this is a paid position.

New York University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
