We’re a San Francisco (SOMA area) based startup working in the mobile / music creation space, preparing to release our first product — a music controller for iOS devices — later this year. We have a possible opening for an intern for the summer, and I’d appreciate you passing this on to possible candidates.
Right now I can see 4 main areas that I think might be a good fit for ITP students:
- iOS development (presently mostly support & core development)
- Low energy bluetooth — coding on assorted microcontrollers, iOS / Android devices, and/or desktop machines. Focus mostly around testing & experimenting.
- Creative use of the core technologies we’re developing, and exploring the space of creating music with mobile devices (creative coding)
- Electronics manufacturing / testing — this would be less of a creative focus, but could also be very interesting for someone wanting to learn more about how hardware moves from a design to manufacturing.
We have a great team and — my personal feeling — a great product lined up… and I think this would be a fun and interesting place for a summer position.
Clearly for an intern we’d expect someone junior, though the ability to be somewhat self-directed and able to work independently for periods is appreciated (it’s not uncommon to have a week or so where the team is pretty swamped and hyperfocused on specific problems… and may not have a lot of available capacity for direction).
