JOB: Wondersauce – UX Director

Wondersauce – UX Director

Should be someone who is well versed in the myriad devices, platforms, and models of modern digital consumption. A respect for process, efficiency, and a keen eye for design are necessary. This role will bring your design skill set to the table at the earliest stages of a project to make sure every initiative has the proper foundation for success. Responsibilities will include understanding the full parameters of the project, interviewing stakeholders, conducting user research, compiling research into proposals (internal and client-facing), managing a team to turn those findings into top notch wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and other necessary organizational models to sell through the vision of a project.

UX is design, design is UX. You’re taking on an early stage of the process, but all deliverables need to be strategic as well as highly sensitive to the later design and dev phases – having an eye for Design and understanding a best practices for Dev is a must. Additional responsibilities will be communicating across teams, mentoring 6-8 UX Designers, growing the team and introducing necessary structures and hierarchy, tracking development and leading the review process for the team, and other leadership functions within the organization.

This role is best suited to someone who has worked in an agency environment in the past, as a Designer or UX Designer in a senior or leadership position, and is ready to move up to a director role. You’re intrinsically motivated to take on the task of managing others and building process and team practices from the ground up. You’re a phenomenal communicator, and understand how to navigate the politics of a modern creative organization. You are firm, but fair, and understand the nuances of business, design, and development needs simultaneously. You’re also a kind person, with strong convictions, but a small ego.

Salary is competitive.
