Position Vacancy – Manager of Instructional Technology Services
The Manager of Instructional Technology Services serves as the focal
point for assessing, planning, developing, and supporting classroom
and network-based instructional technologies. The position requires a
dynamic and knowledgeable educator with proven experience in planning
and managing instructional technology and network-based educational
efforts.
Responsibilities
-Reporting to the Director of CIS, the Manager of ITS will serve as
the focal point for assessing, planning, implementing, and supporting
classroom and network-based instructional technologies and services.
-Provide overall leadership, vision, and direction for the use of
instructional technology. Serve as coordinator of the academic
technology efforts College-wide.
-Work with faculty in the development and support of instructional
materials utilizing emerging instructional technologies and the use of
technology-based applications and equipment.
-Serve as a senior technical advisor to the faculty for developing
on-line course materials, web publications, and network-based
communications.
-Assist and consult with faculty on the innovative and appropriate
integration of technology in the classroom and via the network.
-Provide direct consultation and support for instructional projects.
-Work with other CIS personnel and members of the campus community to
implement projects and CIS instructional initiatives.
Qualifications
-Candidate will have four or more years of progressively responsible
experience in instructional applications/technologies, web-based
tools/applications, and multi-media production, learning strategies,
web authoring, social networking software, and hands-on experience
with multi-media production, audio, video, and other electronic
resources.
-Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred. A degree
in Instructional Technology or Instructional Design a plus.
-Experience in curriculum development that includes technology as an
integral part of teaching and learning, including the use of an
integrated learning management system.
-Demonstrated experience with the design, development, and use of
Internet and web-based applications.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills that enable effective
leadership, project management, training, and collaborative team
membership.
-The ability to work productively in a collaborative environment that
may include faculty, technical staff, and students, as well as having
the ability to work independently, to develop and adhere to project
plans, and meet deadlines.
-Adept at planning and managing multiple projects; and have proven
experience in providing high-quality services in a client-centric
environment.
-Prior experience in a higher educational setting preferred.
