Drupal Developer
The International Rescue Committee (rescue.org), a global humanitarian aid organization is seeking an experienced Drupal developer with a broad range of technical skills to work in their NY headquarters. Experience with Drupal implementations, module development, and themeing are essential. The primary responsibility of the Drupal Developer is to develop new applications and tools and support the existing development needs for the IRC’s websites including Rescue.org and FromHarmtoHome.org websites. S/he will work closely with the online team to enhance the IRC’s website, ensure its secure operation and develop new applications to engage their online audience.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years experience in Web development and 3+ years experience working with Drupal. This position is based in New York and reports to the Senior Director of Online Marketing. The Technical Director will be part of the External Relations Department which raises over $45 million dollars annually from the private sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain the existing IRC websites, ensuring the smooth and secure performance
• Build new standards compliant Drupal themes from PSD files and style guides to support the marketing efforts of the IRC
• Develop custom Drupal modules and modify existing modules as necessary
• Lead systems integration initiatives particularly with Salesforce
• Provide high quality technology solutions
Key Skills/Requirements
• 2+ years professional PHP experience , ideally in Drupal
• Experience working with Web Services, APIs, etc
• Excellent HTML, JavaScript, JSON/AJAX, and CSS skills
• Ability to create Drupal themes from scratch based on PSDs
• Experience with a relational database system, ideally MySQL
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Detail oriented, excellent follow through
• Experience with Salesforce.com a plus
• Ability to work as part of a team
