JOB: Director of Design, Multichannel E-Commerce

Envision the future of e-commerce for one of the largest retailer in the world!

 

My client is eagerly seeking a Director of Design, Multichannel E-Commerce to bring his/her considerable expertise in successful e-commerce to their Concept and Design team. This is the perfect opportunity for an ambitious and talented design leader and manager to develop and realize a vision for multi-channel e-commerce, to have visibility and influence at the highest levels, to have global impact, and to work with best-in-class consultants and agencies.

 

The Director of Design will define and refine the user experience of multi-channel systems of web presences, on-site and mobile applications; create branded design frameworks; envision future functionality; prototype new concepts; track technology trends and pro-actively plan any necessary platform migrations/additions; and evangelize internally on behalf of the subject matter. She/he will work seamlessly with colleagues across the organization and inspire external partners to do their best work.

 

My client would love to find someone with:

  • 7+ years of experience in interaction design
  • 5+ years of experience in design for highly transactional e-commerce, particularly on web. Multi-channel e-commerce preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience managing projects and processes
  • 3+ years of experience managing design and other resources, including outside consultants
  • 3+ years of experience in a structurally complex, preferably large corporate, organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in interaction design, graphic design or similar/related design required (Master’s degree in related field preferred)
  • International experience strongly preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • “Good eye” for visual design and solid grounding in information design
  • Feel for marketing and branding
  • Good understanding of the development of branded content
  • Strong ability to communicate in visual, written, and verbal formats
  • Ability to build trust relationships with internal colleagues (IT, marketing, operations, management) and with external partners
  • Strong in process and orchestration
  • Multi-lingual preferred
