This is a followup to the iTV talk that the 2 alums from NBC gave a
few weeks ago. They are hiring some paid interns for the spring
semester for anyone interested…

> Interactive TV/Mobile Product Development Interns (2 different
> positions)
> The NBC Interactive TV/Mobile team is looking for a Development
> Intern and a Operations intern for the Spring semester.

> Candidates will have the unique opportunity to learn firsthand about
> how interactivity is incorporated into broadcast/cable environments,
> as well as have exposure to interactivity on cable/satellite/iptv
> settop boxes,
> synchronous web, DVR, and other emergent iTV platforms.
> Opportunities to work with the mobile team are available as well,
> working with SMS, MMS, WAP, Mobile Downloadable Applications, and
> mobile videos.

> All Candidates must posses the following:
> * Be a self-starter who can complete a project with minimal direction
> * Excellent Organizational skills
> * Strong oral communication and presentation skills
> * Work well in a team environment

> Development Intern
> The Development Intern will work with iTV Technologists and
> Operators in building out new technologies, as well as writing
> scripts to enhance and test current systems. Intern will be tasked
> with completing a main project for the semester, but will also be
> involved in all projects within the group. Knowledge of
> programming and comfort with technology is required, although
> position is not limited to coding. Experience with Flash, PHP,
> Perl, and/or Java a plus.

> Operations Intern
> The Operations Intern will work with iTV Technologists and
> Operators in testing current iTV technologies in place and work to
> ensure the quality of new releases and will also assist in
> preparing for iTV events. This is a unique opportunity for those
> who may not have the requisite programming experience for the
> Development Intern position who are still interested in learning
> more about the technologies involved in Interactive TV.
