MCG is looking for world class experts in human factors, usage modeling, user-centered strategic planning & product analysis, or related expertise/experience.  The candidate will design usability test plans and oversee their implementation, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, conduct competitive usability analysis, write usability reports, and make effective presentations to influence the user experience design and improve the effectiveness and user experience of MCG products and concepts.  This person will be responsible for working with cross disciplinary teams including ethnographers, design & technology researchers, HW/SW architects, and strategic planners to translate research findings into tangible consumer experience and usage-based direction for Intel business groups.

 

You should be intimately familiar with field studies, structured interviewing, user experience study design and moderation, qualitative data analysis and reporting, survey design, statistical analysis, heuristic reviews, requirements gathering, and influencing people and organizations. In addition, you should be familiar with ethnographic research, design research methodologies, and in designing/implementing innovative user experience studies in order to flesh out early conceptual ideas and define consumer experience focused direction for future Intel platforms and products.

This is a full-time position and salaries are competitive and will be commensurate with experience. We are a team that believes we achieve our best results when we work together, so candidates must be willing to relocate to either the Portland, Oregon (highly desired) or Santa Clara, California area for this position.

 

Your responsibilities will also include but not be limited to:

  • Potentially managing a small team of HFEs if strong managerial fit
  • Experience in leading product/feature user experience assessment and user experience measurement.
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of user experience, design principles and research methods
  • Leading development of user experience strategy, positioning projects within a clearly articulated context of Intel’s business, industry/ecosystem developments, and emerging consumer behavior
  • Ability to build consensus for user experience focused product vision and direction
  • Proactive in keeping updated on emerging trends in technology, solutions, products, and services that will shape future consumer experience innovations and consumer expectation
  • Relevant experience with designing user experience for cross platform devices – good knowledge of best practices for cross platform devices and applications and interaction design
  • Fostering an environment on cross-disciplinary teams and flexible thinking; driving teams toward identifying concrete implications and embodying research insights
  • Ability to network in a large, diverse organization in order to drive high quality results in a short time frame
  • High tolerance for a dynamic work environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel (10-20%)

Qualifications 

You must have a Ph.D. with four years of working experience or a relevant master’s degree with at least six years of working experience as a human factors practitioner, usability engineer, design researcher, interaction designer, HCI, or related occupation.
