The Courant Institute is looking for a student employee to serve as webmaster for the Computer Science and Mathematics departments this summer. We need someone who can hold 15-20 office hours per week. We expect the pay to be $18 / hour and we are looking for candidates to start Monday, May 16 (with a brief training period beforehand).
The responsibilities of these positions include maintaining part of the department web site, developing site documentation, helping faculty and staff to resolve web-related problems, responding to questions from the users of the departmental web sites, and possibly working on other projects.
Required skills: HTML, CSS, web development experience, familiarity with UNIX.
Highly desirable: Experience with version control (git, Subversion), Javascript (esp. jQuery), script programming (Perl, Python, Ruby or other commonly used scripting language).
Excellent communication skills and good academic standing are needed.
