Biosensor Engineer
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for an enthusiastic person with strong analytical skills to join our team. The position
involves research and development of consumer grade EEG/EMG/EOG bio sensing devices. The
Engineer will work with multidisciplinary groups to develop and improve the performance of product
through the application of advanced signal processing techniques, mathematical modeling and
experimentation. The work will involve all aspects of the research process, including data gathering,
analysis, theory development, validation and the documentation of such systems for regulatory
submissions both domestic and internationally.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Research new and existing biosensors and work within a team to implement them in consumer
electronic devices
● Define the architecture and specifications of new biosensor subsystems
● Design and integrate new biosensors
● Model, simulate, and prototype sensor systems
● Guide the design of test fixtures and the development of test strategies for biosensors
● Bring up and debug sensor subsystems
● Guide the design and execution of small user studies to prototype HW and measurement
validity
● Work with team to resolve subsystem issues such as performance, power consumption, thermal
behavior
● Work with internal and external partners to scope out new biosensor technologies and bring
them in­ house
● Analyze data using tools such as Matlab, R, Excel
● Travel to suppliers and manufacturing facilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Previous hands­ on experience with medical, health, wellness and/or fitness sensors, devices,
and applications
● General understanding of human physiology
● Deep understanding of non ­invasive physiological measurement,biosensors, and biological
signals.
● Good understanding of measurement principles, sensors, and instrumentation, and the practical
implementation of low level signal sensing, coupling, filtering, noise shielding, and signal
extraction techniques.
● Strong technical understanding of core sensor and related technologies such as biopotential,
impedance, capacitive, RF, vibrational, magnetic signal detection and processing.
● Experience in consumer electronics and high ­volume mass production is preferred.
● Experience with EEG and EMG sensing is preferred.
● Prior experience in biomedical data analysis, or electronic design, or mechanical prototyping.
● Hands ­on experience in prototyping, bring ­up, debugging, verification.
● Deep understanding of analog signal processing, low­ noise, and low­ power design.
● Able to communicate architecture decisions clearly and support the reasoning with data.
● Minimum of 4+ years professional work experience.
● MSEE in electrical engineering or biomedical engineering or equivalent. PhD preferred.

Wearables Hardware Engineer
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a strong mixed signals wearable hardware engineer who is also familiar with
embedded firmware implementation. This individual needs to have working knowledge on
systems involving low power microcontrollers, analog circuitry, memory, power management
They must be familiar with schematic capture, circuit simulation, PCB layout, and FW
development tools. In addition, experience with wearables and biosensors are desirable.
Besides working on new designs, we are looking for someone who will also be expected to
contribute in supporting current, released products.
Responsibilities
● Support HW concept studies and design involving architecture, MCU, FW development,
schematic and PCB layout, high impedance analog signal management
● Perform circuit design, simulation, and timing analysis
● Participate in prototype bring up, system integration and debug (including SW and FW)
● Support/Own hardware issues, root cause analysis, corrective action tracking
● Support manufacturing test team with related NPI and line bring up
● Design (HW/FW) Test Strategy
Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, Ability)
● BSEE required; MSEE or equivalent experience preferred.
● 3+ years overall experience in HW engineering design (prefer consumer electronics experience)
● Strong digital design background and knowledge of low power embedded & analog systems
● Knowledge of Schematic Capture and Layout design tools
● Knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, USB 2.0/3.0, Bluetooth)
● Experience with IDE’s, C/C++, Perl/Python is a plus
● Hands­ on work in lab environment using necessary lab equipment along with hardware and
software tools to bring up prototypes, root cause board/system­ level issues, and drive to
resolution.

● Excellent communication, time management, and writing skills

Design Engineer (Materials | Technical Soft goods | Wearables)
Position Overview
We are seeking a multi­f aceted design engineer to join our R&D/ Design group who can translate design
principles that are wearable ­related into real ­life solutions. This individual will be responsible for driving
innovative solutions, designing test models and support the development to bring our products to market.
You will working closely with different groups, including R&D Hardware Engineering, Design, Operations and
Packaging. Ultimately we are looking for someone with a strong background in materials, consumer product
development and/or knowledge and passion material implementation relating to outdoor wearable goods
and consumer soft goods.
Responsibilities
● Participate in the design and development of our novel wearable device and supporting peripherals:
focusing on designing new components and constructions, translating design principles into
validated product solutions.
● Work closely with our engineers and designers to develop innovative, thoughtful and design
considered mechanical solutions and become the authority in new material applications.
● Construct early phase prototypes to quickly explore and validate design concepts / support
fabrication of higher resolution mid/ late prototypes to verify functionality/ be the engineering liaison
to bring product to market.
● Research and select appropriate vendors for off ­the­ shelve materials and components, and
exploring considered manufacturing solutions.
Qualifications
Education and Job Experience
● BS in Mechanical Engineering required , MS Preferred.
● 3­6 years of relevant professional design engineering experience in consumer related products.
● Outdoor equipment and sportswear experience is a plus.
Technical Experience
● Familiarity with soft good & soft goods fabrication.
● Knowledge of conductive inks and polymers.
● Fluency with fundamental design engineering principles, strong fabrication skills, design for
manufacturing and consumer product materials experience.
● Hands on experience with lifestyle goods, materials and fabrication processes.
● Developed appreciation­ of and empathy ­for human­ centered design and solving problems by
building things.
● Experience and success working on challenging Industrial Designs and Product Development
projects ­ Detail­ oriented and a good eye for proportion and form.
● Knowledge of SolidWorks (modeling, surfacing, assembly), performing tolerance analyses and
creating detailed drawings.
● Understanding of human factors, biocompatibility, and usability.
● Thrives in exploratory work, and capable of analyzing problems and working out solutions with
diligence and persistence.
