OPP: ASOS art project opportunity

What is #ASOSmuse?
ASOS firmly believes in nurturing fresh talent and has a strong track record in doing so.
But in 2016 and beyond, we want to take this initiative one step further. Through the
#ASOSmuse project, we will connect young talent and support the growth of young
ambitious creatives from all walks of the creative and cultural community. Whether it’s art,
film, music, or fashion, we share the same ethos – to move forward, to grow and to live
our lives along our own narrative.
We’re here to actively support and promote original ideas amongst rising talent.
Kicking off in September, ASOS will work with two talented individuals for each of the
four key seasons (autumn, winter, spring, summer) in the US, the UK, France and
Germany. Talent will work alongside and in collaboration with ASOS for a 3 month term
as part of the year-long programme.
ASOS provides (Company):
– Financial support:Company will give you a stipend of roughly $2-10K for a
personal passion project and be there along the way to support the realization of
the project
– PR services:Company’s PR team will provide PR services for each individual,
outside of the #ASOSMuse campaign, as well as press opportunities around the
‘Muse Project’
– Distribution:Company will work with you to distribute the project and gain the
most visibility possible. This includes strategic partnerships with media outlets as
well as the potential to feature as part of editorial in the ASOS magazine
– ASOS products: Each individual Company works with will receive gifted products
as well as discounts for friends and network
– ‘Muse project’ launch event: Company will work with you to produce an event in
support of your project
– Opportunity to be involved in photoshootfor seasonal lookbook and other ASOS
content (either featuring in or from a creative point of view)
Talent provides:
– An original passion project:This project must be able to live on the ASOS.com
website/ASOS owned channels either in film, photograph or other
– Post on social media from start to August 31, 2017(10 times, dates TBD)
– Interviews(TBD): Talent to be available for 3 or more #ASOSmuse interviews
– ‘Muse Project’ launch event: Be involved in the creative development of launch
event in support of Muse project
– Potential Involvement in photoshoot for seasonal lookbook
ASOS Muse Project Brief
Objective
Utilize ASOS’s support and network to bring to life your creative endeavours and in turn
grow your own network.
Assignment
Create a project in the medium of your choice (film, painting, sculpture, photography,
music, installation, code, etc.) in response to the following prompt:
ASOS celebrates what it is to be unique, to reject the norm and forge a path all of your
own. We invite you to show us what makes it means to follow your dreams and live your story.
Whilst this is ultimately a celebration of your own passions, as part of the proposal please
consider how ASOS product could be integrated into your creations over the three
months in an authentic, credible and storytelling-led way.

The project will live online on the ASOS.com website, ASOS’s social channels (@ASOS,

$2-10K (based on project idea)
Additional budgets include:

+ Social media budget (10 posts over 12 month period) – timing + budget TBD

June 6: Muse presents project proposal (original and focused proposal)
The proposal must be submitted in a presentation and cover the following:
– The concept (and how it answers the brief)
– What are you creating?
– Timeline
– Budget breakdown
June 8: Project draft #2
June 13: Confirm Contracts and Involvement
June 20: Project Final Direction
June 27: Project sign off
June 28 – August 5: Project Production
August 8: Muse Project Due
Aug 9-12: Muse work on final project tweaks
Aug 16 – 17: Muses work on final tweaks
Aug 19: Muse delivers final project assets to DFM
Aug 24: Submit 3 sample social posts for approval
Sep 1: ‘Muse project’ launch event
