GREEN BRONX MACHINE (GBM) is offering an internship for a creative
hyphenate/polymath to help pre-visualize what a cleaner, greener NYC
will look like in the year 2020. GBM is a wiki-web storytelling
project about the convergence of environmental justice and clean tech
in the South Bronx. It will launch as an alpha website in early
Spring and will feature short dozens of short HD webisodes in
production since September of 2008. It will also simultaneously
launch as a real-world series of neighborhood-based art/tech
throughout the Boogie Down Bronx.
For example, one of our subjects is Majora Carter, a
visionary green business leader who speaks of how her neighborhood in
Hunts Point can have a whole new feel to it. With the right ITP
student and a little lo-tech, mid-tech and hi-tech these words can be
translated into beautiful computer widgets, iPhone apps, new media
