Urban Omnibus is se=
eking Fall Interns
Urban Omnibus (urbanomnibus.net), =
an online project of the Architectural League of
New York=
– one of America=92s premier forums for the presentation and discussion of
creative and intellectual work in architecture and urbani=
sm – is seeking applicants for a fall
internship.
Interns work closely with Omnibus staff in a collaborative wor=
k environment and perform
a wide variety of tasks. Candid=
ates should have an interest in design, architecture, and
urbanism, and must have strong communication, organization, and writing ski=
lls.
Time will be split between preparing material for on=
line publication, researching
information for future feat=
ures, and helping with administrative tasks. Opportunities will

=

exist for the intern to develop his/her own feature in collaboration =
with editors. Strength in
graphic design, mapping, Flash,=
ActionScripting, Java, or a familiarity with and ability to

execute interactive online features a strong plus.

Wo=
rking for Urban Omnibus is a great opportunity to acquire wide-ranging exper=
ience
in journalism, new media, audio/video production, a=
rchitecture and urbanism as well as
exposure to curatoria=
l, editorial and non-profit management.
Urban Omnibus is =
a project of the Architectural League that explores, through multimedia
features and online commentary, the relationship between desi=
gn of all disciplines and the
built environment of New Yo=
rk. The point is to bring together and connect conversations

that are otherwise segregated into the various silos of interest within =
and surrounding

design and urbanism. Our goal is to incre=
ase understanding of the city we have and
encourage ideas=
that can lead to a more inclusive, more sustainable, more beautiful city
that could be. We post a new feature weekly, with posts to =
our forum throughout the
week.
=
This is=
an unpaid internship, though we are open to discussing independent study or=
credit opportunities. Hours are flexible, though regular=
ity in schedule is preferred.

er to info (at) urbanomnibus (dot) net.
