ek a qualified, self-motivated individual for a paid, web-development intern=
ship in its policy program. The intern will have the unique opportunity to c=
ode and build a new website for the AS/COA policy journal,=A0Americas=
Quarterly
. Once online, the position will entail updating t=
he new website, adding additional components and establishing new web-based =
relationships with other Latin American think tanks and policy journals. The=
intern will be expected to bring creativity, enthusiasm and dedication to t=
he position.

elop and update a new interactive website at:=A0www.americasquarterly.org:
Design web user interfaces, from wireframes to HTML mock=
ups
Perform usability testing=
Write clean HTML/CSS/JavaScript code that =
integrates with a PHP back-end
Outre=
ach to other online publications

Ideal =
candidates will have proficiency in the following programs:

Server-side, database-driven application design and development, =
using PHP (or similar) and SQL
Solid=
grounding in software design principles and methodologies
=
Versed in user interface design, information architec=
ture, and usability issues
Web user =
interface implementation using cross-browser-compatible HTML and CSS
Familiarity with UNIX (any flavor) preferre=
d
JavaScript a plusKnowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.
